“StartupPayanam” is a community building event to build an active and vibrant startup ecosystem. It is also an initiative to foster entrepreneurship among young generations.The idea is here a Startup tour where we plan to take the participants across various established and budding companies/startups. The intention of startup payanam is to get them experience the real world of Startups. This is an honest effort by the startup community to inspire and educate aspiring entrepreneurs for the overall benefit of the ecosystem. Five startup programmes were conducted in Tamilnadu.

Madurai edition of #StartupPayanam was organized by EDII (Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute), Govt of Tamilnadu in association with MADITSSIA, Madurai on 09.12.2017(Saturday) along with associate partners Pandian Saraswathi Yadav Engineering College (PSYEC), Madurai and Nativelead Foundation, Madurai. 

The journey of this grand event was started at Sidco, Mattuthavani Bus stand (opposite to Flower Market) on Saturday (09.12.2017) morning at 08.00 am. The event was coordinated by P.Karuppanan –Incharge- Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship(CFIE), PSYEC and Ms.Venkadeshwari-Startup Coordiantor, Nativelead Foundation Madurai.

#StartupPayanam Madurai was inaugurated by

The journey started at 8.30 am with a context-setting speech by



Ms. R.V.Shajeevana, IAS, Additional Director, EDII, Chennai.










Mr. S.P.Varadharajan, Managing Director, Pandian Saraswathi Yadav Engineering College, Madurai.



Mr.Sivarajah Ramanathan, Founder & CEO, Nativelead Foundation, Madurai.

Mr.RG.Nawin Krishnan, Founder of Rowthra - "The Youth Forum".




In this Payanam, we identified 55 budding startups including 20 Students from various cities of Tamilnadu. We have met 25 established entrepreneurs as Guest speakers of this Payanam.

In this Payanam, payanigal visited Entrepreneurial Ventures viz

and Thaazhanmai Pannayam.

Also, they visited Maditssia and TamilNadu Chamber of Commerce where the participants were addressed by the guest speakers along with a panel discussion.



The journey involves start-ups like Native krea, Rainstock, Servercake, Mindwiz solutions. Some more products Jingleman and Puppet films gave pep talks on their entrepreneurial venture and narrate their real-life experience to the students throughout the journey.

This is an effort by the startup community to inspire and educate aspiring Entrepreneurs for the overall benefit of the ecosystem.  Madurai edition of #StartupPayanam is to be organized by EDII, Govt of Tamilnadu, Chennai, and MADITSSIA, Madurai on 09.12.2017(Saturday) along with Pandian Saraswathi Yadav Engineering College. It’s the Second successful year of this kind in Madurai previously organized solely by Pandian Saraswathi Yadav Engineering college in the year 2016.
